Not only is using Legos in math class a way to build spatial and proportional awareness and develop creativity, but many math concepts can be explicitly taught using Legos.
Multiplication and Division With Legos
Hands On Activity: building a 3D multiplication graph. This is a teacher directed small group (or individual tutoring) building project that can be an intro to multiplication for 2nd/3rd grade, or provide intervention for older kids struggling with multiplication.

Addition and Subtraction With Legos
Legos can easily be used to teach Part-Part-Whole and addition combinations as you connect two or more blocks.
You can also use them for “Making 10” addition strategy. Give children a tower of 10 blocks to compare the height of their own towers and make them all equal. Practice with different numbers: for example, if you give the child a tower of 7 and a tower of 6, they can break 3 off the 6 and attach it to 7 or break 4 off the 7 and attach it to the 6.
