This is a game variation I came up with spontaneously recently. I was at Half Price Books and saw this very cool set of Texas themed Uno cards that I just had to buy. We Texans love our state!
One of my tutoring students had never actually played Uno and wanted to play. We have been working on solidifying his multiplication fact fluency so I decided on using Uno for fact practice! As we played the game, I just had him multiply the number on the top card by the number on the card he played. The same idea would work with addition. He loved it and wanted to play again and again.
Simple, no prep, and lots of fun! Using Uno for fact practice worked really well.
